Did someone say challenge?!

My good friends over at Savers asked if I wanted to be apart of their $60 Summer Challenge and you know I can’t say no to that! The challenge was really pretty simple  – find a great summer outfit for $60 at any Savers location.  I always find the best stuff at Savers so I knew this would be a walk in the park for me :)

So how did I do? Check it out –

My basket was overflowing with choices!

Clothing:

Skirt: Picked up a grey cashmere skirt – stylish and comfy – WIN!

Tops: Since it’s tank top season I purchased three adorable tanks – that all go with the cashmere skirt – WIN!

Cost: $21 for all four items

Jewelry:

Note: Not all the jewelry came from Savers

Bracelet: I found this vintage bangle in the jewelry section at Savers

Rings: The large glass ring is from Venice, Italy (take me back) and the sterling silver one is from a shop in Providence, RI

Necklaces: Custom made sterling silver & copper necklaces are Me Too Charms

Cost: The bracelet cost me $5

Home:

Printed painting: Originally I was going to use this painting for its frame only but I miscalculated the size and the frame was too small. So there it sat in my office for three weeks until I found a use for it… a chalkboard!

About the painting: When turning the painting over I realized it may have been done by a well-known artist.  So after doing some research I discovered that this was a print of a painting done by a famous Disney artist (cool!)  While it was hard to paint over this Disney masterpiece I ultimately decided I couldn’t not use it and had to move forward with the craft. It was valued at $100 (according to google.) You just never know what you will find shopping second-hand.

Cost: $10

Dishware:

Vintage Serving Platter: I found this great serving platter in the dishware section! I loved the unique colors and immediately put it to work!

Cost: $6

Books:

Guerilla Marketing: Since I now have my own marketing business (I feel so adult-like writing that) I picked up a book on Guerrilla Marketing… because, why not!

Cost: $1.99

Like I said, I knew this would be an easy challenge for me. And while I didn’t stick to just clothing I figured I would show how much you can get for spending only $44 at Savers. You can feel good about shopping with them too, because Savers pays their nonprofit partners for every donation made at the store, regardless of whether or not the donations are sold or even make it to the sales floor.

This is why I love Savers!

Have a great weekend!

Taylor
